Federer retains Australian Open Title

The men's final of Australian Open 2007 just finished tonight at Melbourne Park.
Chilean dark horse Fernando Gonzalez brought magnificent tennis to the Australian Open men's final, but his best was still well short of the mastery of Roger Federer, who won his 10th grand slam crown in straight sets - 7-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Federer is the first man since Borg at the 1980 French Open to romp through a grand slam draw without dropping a set and the first in the open era to have won three straight majors on two occasions. [Source]

I really would have liked to see someone else take out the Australian Open...Not necessarily a home body. Federer needs to feel the competitiveness of the port again...His winnings seem so easily obtained...
