Ben Cousins, who was suspended from the Westcoast team last week, fly out of Perth today to enter a drug rehabilitation program in the US.
The 28-year-old AFL star was preparing for two months' rehabilitation. "He's aware he needs some help and is readying himself to head overseas," the source said. "It's a pretty positive step and everyone's pretty happy about it." An AFL spokesman said the league was not at liberty to say whether it was involved in helping Cousins beat his problem, believed to be an addiction to the highly addictive methamphetamine, also called "Crystal Meth" or "Ice".
