MTV Australia Video Music Awards 2007

At the MTV Australia Video Music Awards last night in Sydney, Sophie Monk and the Hollywood gossip blogger Perez Hilton stalked starlets on the red carpet before an awards ceremony.


Hosted by the sexy Fergie, who won an award for sexiest video for her solo effort Fergielicious and Good Charlotte won the viewers choice award. Pink won two categories including those for best female artist and for download of the year. Jared Leto's band, 30 Seconds to Mars won best rock video and video of the year for their track The Kill (Bury Me).


Only three of the 15 major award categories were won by Australian acts. Shannon Noll won his best male artist award, and Guy Sebastian won the award for best pop video. Silverchair were named the inaugural winners of the Australian Video Vanguard Award for their "unprecedented contributions towards the MTV Generation".
