AX (SX) National :: Diego Lema

"SX National" has changed its name to "AX National (Australian Express National)" in this February issue which is Troy Gurr's final issue as editor (Reg Domingo steps up to the place next month).

This current issue features Beautifully broken: Diego lema, Argentinean-born photographer and former model, who just picked up a camera for the fist time in 2005. "I'm tired of portraits where I see myself as pretty. I want to see myself as dirty, torn, broken, rushing, flying, disappearing – circumstances where I would never consider photographing others because the industry is so conservative."

“Every photo has its own story, a life, or an expression that I'd like to reflect. Not only capture to the moment, but reflect the sensation. And if the viewer doesn't know the true story behind the photo, I like to prompt them, and let them create their own."
