A colorful summer tradition took place Sunday in Manhattan, New York City. The annual Gay Pride Parade kicked off at noon on Fifth Avenue. Religious groups led the city's gay pride parade, lending gravity to an often outrageous event that also featured a jumble of drag queens in feather boas, marching bands, muscle boys, motorcycle-riding lesbians, rugby players and samba dancers.Thousands of people were out celebrating unity, acceptance and gay pride. Dozens of floats exploding with life made their way through a sea of spectators from all over the world. Every color under the rainbow, all nationalities infused this massive celebration, a time for splendor, magic, love and tolerance.
