Mardi Gras Party

As promised I would post the photos from the Mardi Gras party. After watching the parade, we came home and got into our costumes then went to join friends and other 18,000 local, interstate and international party-goers at the sold-out Mardi Gras party.
At the party, veteran transsexual Carlotta joined crooner David Campbell and 40 drag queens for a rendition of I Am What I Am, while Olivia Newton John put on a glorious show of 'Xanadu' at 4am, which we missed out.
Pop goddess Cyndi Lauper was set to close the party at 8am. She came out of nowhere looking like Marie Antoinette in a stunning period costume to bring down the house.
She launched into her brand new song 'The Same old fucking story!' and finished with her signature song 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'. At the end of the song, she took a big pie from one of the back-up dancers, and smashed it right into her own face. "Happy Mardi Gras!" she screamed! Many more images after the jump..

Sydney Mardi Gras Parade 2008

Back to blogging business after 5 days break for Mardi Gras. This year's 30th anniversary Sydney Mardi Gras parade was the biggest ever with a record 10,000 participants, included 150 themed floats and spread over four kilometres.
Colourful extravagant costumed and others baring their flesh, turned out for the annual celebration of gay rights, singing and dancing along Oxford St. Leading the dazzling procession was Chief of Parade - Margaret Cho. A record-breaking 150 themed floats - including original marchers The 1978-ers, NSW Fire Service in which my boy carried the huge rainbow bow flag (lower left image), Surf Life Savers, and Gaydar warriors - took part as did 10,000 marchers who clearly relished the opportunity to proudly participate in the parade.

Pink Flight Has Landed

Air New Zealand’s pink flight from San Francisco has landed in Sydney for celebration of the 2008 Sydney Mardi Gras. Kathy Griffin was the host on the plane, including a bunch of drag queens and there were plenty of gay and lesbian passengers onboard.
Before take off the fabulous plane itself was dressed to impress with a pink feather boa and fake eyelashes, as it debuts being the first North American gay-themed flight whisking pink passengers on a nonstop journey from San Francisco to Sydney.

Magaret Cho :: Chief of Mardi Gras Parade

Last night I and my friends went to see 'Beautiful', the premiere new show of Magaret Cho at Sydney Theatre. She was absolutely hilarious and the ultimate fag hag. My jaw hurts as I was laughing too much.
New Mardi Gras has announced that Magaret Cho will be the Chief of our world famous Mardi Gras Parade leading 150 floats this Saturday night. And of course she will be at the sold-out party, joining two other fag hags, Cyndi Lauper and Olivia Newton-John. It will be an awesome party... I can't wait!

Sydney Mardi Gras 'Sol y Luna' Harbour Party, 2008

Mardi Gras 'Sol y Luna' Harbour Party on Sunday was a brilliant, sultry summer success. Thousand of local and international sexy boys and girls including us enjoyed this fabulous Summer harbourside celebration. Sydney Harbour came alive with a flotilla of small boats and pleasure craft as the two Queens, QE2 & Queen Victoria greet each other with a ‘Whistle Salute’ using their signalling horns. We drank and danced til the sunset.

Cyndi Lauper Confirms For Mardi Gras Party

While we've known Cyndi Lauper is coming to Sydney to perform as part of the 30th anniversary Mardi Gras festival, everyone’s been wondering whether or not she’ll be doing a show at the Mardi Gras Party alongside Olivia Newton-John.

This morning Cyndi revealed all, while being interviewed on the Today Show. When Richard Wilkins asked if she’d be performing at the Party she responded with, “Am I allowed to say? Yeah, I am. I’m gonna have a blast…” she then added, “I wanna see the parade, I love parades. You know me Richard, I love a celebration!”

It's gonna be an awesome party. The tickets are selling fast, so if you haven’t bought yours yet you better get a move on!

Mardi Gras Pool Party

Hundred of Sydney boys & girls strutted their stuffs in colourful sexy swimwear and made a splash at Pool party of Mardi Gras 2008 at Victoria Park Pool.
